La historia de Michelle

Michelle Mosby was born in Richmond City, and shortly after, her parents moved to Chesterfield County. She attended Reams Road Elementary, Swift Creek Middle, and Monacan High School. After graduating

Michelle pursued higher education at Norfolk State University and Virginia Union University before welcoming her daughter, Mesha Michelle. Inspired by her role as a mother and her drive to create opportunity, she built a successful career as an entrepreneur and leader dedicated to strengthening families and communities.

Public service, civic engagement, and the power of voting have always been essential values in Michelle’s family. Her mother worked for decades in Chesterfield County Public Schools as a cafeteria manager and faithfully served through her church’s food bank ministry. Her father dedicated over 30 years to Philip Morris. From them, Michelle learned the importance of hard work, stability, and serving the community. Following their example, Michelle made voting a priority from the time she cast her very first ballot at 18 years old—an experience that sparked her lifelong commitment to participating in the democratic process and encouraging others to do the same.

Michelle began her career in banking as a teller, working for both credit unions and major banks, before joining Verizon, where she thrived for more than a decade in the corporate sector. During her time at Verizon, Michelle achieved a personal milestone—purchasing her first home for herself and her daughter. That experience reinforced her belief that homeownership is a powerful strategy for building family stability and generational wealth. Inspired by that belief, she pursued real estate, becoming a successful Realtor, associate broker, and top producer.

Understanding the importance of creating stable jobs and opportunities for others, Michelle launched her first business, which will celebrate 25 years in April 2026. With nearly a dozen employees, her business has been a cornerstone of local economic growth. Building on her passion for second chances, she founded the Help Me Help You Foundation, which has provided housing, employment, and reentry support to over 700 individuals returning from incarceration.
